Tottenham Hotspur have been hit with several injuries this season. This dilemma, along with the players being out of form, has caused a major headache to manager Ange Postecoglou. The ex-Celtic boss finds his team in the bottom half of the Premier League table and can only wonder how it has turned out to be so bad.
But many fans and the players themselves will tell you that is due to lack of consistency and lack of fitness in the squad. The players that should be relied upon by Ange have seriously underperformed and the games that they should have comfortably, the North London club have lost. The Premier League was already a write-off, and with that, Spurs came crashing out of the domestic competitions as well.
Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing River Plate talent Franco Mastantuono.
The only positive about this season has been the club still competing in the Europa League and might have a chance to go on and win it. That is a big “if” but it is still possible. The players who were brought in last summer have been one of the few things Ange Postecoglou can take credit for. Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall have been miles better than their teammates despite being teenagers.
Tottenham Hotspur aiming to sign another young talent
Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to bring in more quality and promising young talents into the squad for next season. The Lilywhites are aiming for a major overhaul this summer, with the likes of Yves Bissouma and Timo Werner looking likely to leave N17. Spurs have missed an attacking midfielder in their ranks to provide competition to James Maddison, but that might be about to change.
According to GIVEMESPORT, Tottenham are aiming to fend off competition from Manchester United and buy River Plate starlet Franco Mastantuono. The North London side are at an advantage in the race for the 17-year-old’s signature as the report also states that United are looking at other alternatives instead.
Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing River Plate talent Franco Mastantuono.
As per TeamTalk, the youngster has a release clause worth £37.5m in his River Plate contract, and Spurs will have to match that asking price if they want to land the teenager. Earlier in the season, TBR Football reported that Real Madrid were also keen to sign the Argentine midfielder. That just shows the immense talent the kid possesses.
Who is Franco Mastantuono?
The question every Spurs fan will be asking: Who is Franco Mastantuano? The answer is simple. The River Plate attacker is a left-footed right winger, who is comfortable playing as an attacking midfielder as well. The 17-year-old has been in incredible form this season and has does not look like a player who has just started out as a professional player.
As per Sofascore, Mastantuono has played 46 games in all competitions since his debut, scoring four goals and providing four assists. The 17-year-old is also averaging a match rating of 6.97 and has been one of the best players for River Plate, in what has been a tough season for them.
Goal.com recently suggested that Mastantuono’s game style was similar to Manchester City star Phil Foden. That is a big statement but that just proves how high the 17-year-old’s ceiling is. The River Plate No.30 tends to play on the right, cut inside and create a shooting opportunity from long range. He is also good in tight spaces and tends to dribble past teams that have a low block.
