The Sacramento Kings could be getting Domantas Sabonis back sooner than expected. Sabonis has missed the last three games due to a right ankle sprain.
On Sunday, the team sent out an update that stated:
“Sacramento Kings forward-center Domantas Sabonis has made significant progress in the return to play process after missing three games with a moderate right ankle sprain. Sabonis was a full participant in practice today and will be listed as questionable for tomorrow’s game versus the Boston Celtics.”
On March 18, it was announced by the team that Sabonis would be listed as out and be re-evaluated in 10 days.
Sabonis is averaging 19.2 points, 13.9 rebounds and 6.2 assists this season. He has only played in three games in March, only one of which he logged starting minutes. He has played just 43 minutes this month. Jonas Valanciunas has filled in admirably during Sabonis’ absence, averaging 11.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.1 blocks.
The Kings take on the 52-19 Boston Celtics Monday at 7 p.m.
