New England Patriots: Match Offer Sheet of 27-Year-Old Defender

New England Patriots linebacker Christian Elliss had his best statistical season, boasting career-highs in tackles, QB hits, sacks, interceptions, pass deflections, forced fumbles, and playing time. Elliss recorded 80 tackles, one TFL, five QB hits, 1.5 sacks, one interception, five pass deflections, and one forced fumble in 16 games, five starts, and 513 (49%) snaps. He also had ten pressures, 17 stops, and allowed 156 passing yards with a 93.8 passer rating in coverage (h/t) PFF.

New England placed a right of first refusal tender worth $3.263 million on their restricted free agent. This allows him to sign offer sheets with other teams, and the Patriots have the opportunity to match the offer.
