Manchester United have been handed a potential boost in their quest to sign Everton defender Jarrad Brathwaite.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News last summer, United had two bids for the defender rejected by Everton, with the second offer thought to be worth an initial £45million fee plus £5million in add-ons.
Everton were reported to value Branthwaite at around £70million to £80million at the time, with United unwilling to go that high to secure his signature.
In the end, United moved to sign Leny Yoro (£58.9million) and Matthijs de Ligt (£41.6million) to strengthen their central defensive options, spending more than £100million on the duo.
Now, a fresh report has emerged about Brathwaite which involves United. Sky Sports has claimed that Brathwaite is set to reconsider his future with the Toffees in the summer transfer window.
The report claims that Branthwaite being left out of the England squad by Thomas Tuchel will force the defender to have a think about his future.
United are reported to still have an interest in signing the 22-year-old when the transfer window reopens.

Manchester United continue to be linked with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite ahead of the summer transfer window.
However, it has also been reported that United will face competition from Real Madrid, Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur for Branthwaite's signature.
Branthwaite has made 25 appearances for Everton and is contracted with the Merseyside club until 2027, with an option of a further year included in his current deal.
It remains to be seen if United will be in the market for new central defenders in the summer transfer window.
Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof are expected to depart when their contracts expire at the end of the season, which would leave Yoro, De Ligt, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez and Ayden Heaven as their remaining central defensive options as things stand.
