Wolves are currently looking to preserve their Premier League status under the guidance of Vitor Pereira
Wolves won 2-1 away at Southampton in their last Premier League outing before the international break. Striker Jorgen Strand-Larsen scored both of their goals against the Saints as they secured a useful three points in their quest for survival. Vitor Pereira’s side are sat in 17th place in the table.
Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town currently make up the bottom three and all three are cut adrift at this moment in time. Pereira’s men had a break from the action this past weekend and are back next Tuesday at home to West Ham as they look to keep their momentum going.

Wolves replacement for Matheus Cunha predicted by AI
We have asked AI (Grok) to predict a replacement for Mathues Cunha at Wolves. They could face a battle to keep hold of the attacker this summer after his impressive season. AI has predicted that they could target Goncalo Ramos at PSG.
The technology has said: “Ramos, a 23-year-old Portuguese striker, has struggled for regular minutes at PSG behind bigger names but has a proven goal-scoring record (27 goals in 30 Liga Portugal games for Benfica in 2022/23). His movement, finishing, and physicality could replace Cunha’s output, offering a more traditional No. 9 option with room to grow. Feasibility: A loan with an option to buy could work, as PSG might be open to moving him for playing time. A permanent transfer might cost £30-40m, depending on negotiations.”
Ramos, who is valued at £42million on Transfermarkt, joined PSG in 2023 and has since scored 27 goals in 67 outings. However, as AI alluded to, he isn’t really a regular starter with the Ligue 1 giants and an exit wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility. Prior to his transfer to France, he fired 41 goals in 106 matches for Benfica.
Matheus Cunha’s contract situation at Wolves
Losing Cunha would be a massive blow for Wolves and it would be hard to find someone to step into his shoes. He has been a hit since joining them and is their most prized asset. The 25-year-old initially joined on loan back in 2023 before his switch was later made permanent.

He has scored 31 goals in 85 games so far for his current club, 15 of which have come this season. Prior to his switch to Molineux, he had spells at FC Sion, RB Leipzig, Hertha Berlin and Atletico Madrid. It remains to be seen whether he will be sticking around beyond this campaign or heading elsewhere for a new challenge.
Cunha penned a new deal in February and Wolves’ Chairman Jeff Shi said: “Matheus has been on an amazing journey with us over the past two years and it’s been a privilege to see him grow into a big part of the Wolves family. Matheus has a good relationship with everyone at Compton Park, his personality is infectious to those around him, and we hope this new contract will provide a boost to the group.
“We can all see his quality on the pitch, but off it he’s developed into a leader of the group, and we’re delighted that he’s signed a new contract. It’s always important to us that we reward our strongest and most impactful players, and Matheus deserves this new deal.”
