Last week news came out that the Boston Celtics had decided on a buyer for the franchise and the winning bid was a record $6.1 billion dollars. The most ever for the sale of a franchise in any of the four major sports leagues in America.
The team's new owner Bill Chisholm along with the outgoing Wyc Grousbeck sat down with NBC Sports Boston's Chris Forsberg to discuss the deal in this lengthy interview:
The Celtics new ownwer Bill Chisholm was born and raised in Georgetown, Massachusetts and later graduated from Dartmouth College, where he also met his wife. Chisholm co-founded Symphony Technology Group in 2002, a private equity firm specializing in investments in software and technology services companies. Chisholm's investment group's deal to purchase the Celtics is still pending the NBA Board of Governors' approval, which is expected to happen without any hitches.
