Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks set to leave Everton in the summer.

The 28-year-old has struggled with injuries throughout his Blues career and has not had an impact on David Moyes‘ resurgence as a result.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, no agreement has been reached between the two parties and the Toffees may have the perfect replacement lined up.

Everton target Tim Kliendienst starts for Germany v Italy

Everton were linked with Tim Kliendienst in the winter transfer window but a move did not materialise.

The Borussia Monchengladbach star has enjoyed a stunning rise to stardom in recent years and this continued in Germany’s 3-3 draw with Italy on 23 March.

German outlet SportsBild labelled the forward as “the Italian terror”, praising his involvement in all three goals against top opposition.

They gave him an A grade for his performance and said: “He tore through the Italian defense, pressed exemplary—and was involved in all three goals in the first half! He won the penalty for the 1-0 lead. He secured the corner for the 2-0 goal with a powerful header that Donnarumma just managed to clear. And then he made it 3-0 with a header!”

Calvert-Lewin replacement could take Everton forward

With Moyes looking to take the Blues back up the Premier League table and capitalise on his stunning return to Merseyside, they could upgrade on Calvert-Lewin.

The former Sheffield United ace has notched just three goals and one assist in 22 league appearances in an underwhelming campaign for the Goodison Park outfit.

As no progress has been made on an agreement, it seems as though the 11-cap England international will leave before the Blues make the move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

Meanwhile, the former Heidenheim man has scored 15 goals and notched five assists in 25 matches and his latest exploits for his country are the latest chapter of a stunning late breakthrough at the top level.

He has four goals in his first six caps for the German national team, showing that he can perform under pressure and that would certainly be the case on Merseyside given the expectation placed on the Toffees’ attackers who have largely underperformed this season.

While a move to the Premier League would not guarantee the same level of performance, it would surely be a better option than an out-of-form and injury-prone Calvert-Lewin as the Blues seek to climb the table.
