Skip to content Justin Pippen, son of Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen, will not be with his team for the Sweet 16.
Pippen, a freshman guard, has reportedly elected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, which opened Monday.
Pippen’s Michigan bio shows that he logged 188 minutes in 28 appearances off the bench during the 2024-25 season. His contributions to the Wolverines’ Sweet 16 campaign include 44 points, 20 rebounds and 16 assists. Pippen last logged playing time on March 9 when Michigan faced in-state conference rival Michigan State. He played 5 minutes against the Spartans, scoring 2 points.
Out of Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth, California, Pippen was a highly touted prospect. On the 247Sports Composite, Pippen was read 4-stars, the No. 12 player in the state of California, No. 13 combo guard and No. 106 player overall in the Class of 2024. He signed with Michigan over Texas A&M, Stanford, Georgia Tech and others.
Justin Pippen is the younger brother of former Vanderbilt standout Scotty Pippen Jr., now with the Memphis Grizzlies. Scotty played at Vandy from 2019-2022.
Pippen’s teammates are gearing up to face No. 1 overall seed Auburn on Friday in Atlanta. Michigan is a 5-seed in the South region. The Wolverines have defeated UC San Diego (68-65) and Texas A&M (91-79) to reach the Sweet 16.
