Celtic are on course to win yet another Scottish Premiership title this season

Celtic are top of the Scottish Premiership table ahead of rivals Rangers. Brendan Rodgers has the chance to bring in some new faces this summer to freshen up his squad. He also has the opportunity to let some players head out the exit door to free up space and funds.

The Hoops have asserted their dominance on the Scottish game over recent years and will need to be ready if the Gers make a push for top spot next year. With that in mind, here is a look at their dream XI if the transfer rumours are true, with valuations from AI...

How Celtic’s dream XI could look next season

Goalkeeper: Kasper Schmeichel, £1m. Celtic signed the veteran goalkeeper following Joe Hart’s exit last year. He has since been a safe pair of hands between the sticks. The stopper remains under contract for next season which is a boost. He’ll be facing off against Scotland in their World Cup qualification group later this year, after Denmark were added to their group alongside Belarus and Greece.

Right-back: Alistair Johnston, £10m. The 26-year-old has been a key player for the Hoops since joining them in 2023. He has made 103 appearances in all competitions and has scored six goals. The defender has also made 53 caps for the Canada national team to date.

Centre-back: Cameron Carter-Vickers, £12m . He is one of Celtic’s most prized assets and they will want to hold on to him for as long as possible. The 27-year-old was snapped up back in 2022 and he has since played 106 matches. Prior to his transfer to Scotland, he was on the books at Tottenham Hotspur.

Centre-back: Liam Scales, £2m. When fit, he has formed a solid partnership in the heart of defence with Carter-Vickers. The 26-year-old made the switch to Glasgow in 2021 from Shamrock Rovers. He was loaned out to Aberdeen to get some experience a couple of years ago.

Left-back: Kieran Tierney - signing, free. He is poised to return to Celtic later this year, as per BBC Sport. He rose up through their academy ranks and broke into their first-team as a youngster before moving down the border. The left-back has been at Arsenal over recent times but is set to return home.

Striker arrives at Celtic

Central midfielder: Elvis Rexhbecaj - signing, £3m. According to Fussball Transfers, Celtic are interested in snapping up the midfielder from Augsburg. If they got him, he would give them more depth in the middle of the park. He is left-footed and played for Wolfsburg from 2017 to 2022.

Central midfielder: Lennon Miller - signing, £5m. Football Insider claim the Hoops want to lure him to Celtic. The 18-year-old has broken into Motherwell’s team over recent times and is a valuable asset for them. They risk losing him though amid attention from some bigger teams.

Central midfielder: Reo Hatate, £15m. The Japan international joined Celtic in 2022 and hasn’t looked back since. He has fired 24 goals in 134 outings altogether, eight of which have come this term. Hatate has also made 10 caps for his country so far.

Right winger: Nicolas Kuhn, £10m. Rodgers will be hoping that he can keep hold of the 25-year-old in the upcoming window. He has caught the eye in this campaign and knows where the back of the net is. The winger has scored 17 goals in all competitions, 10 of which have come in the league.

Left winger: Jota, £8.4m. He made an emotional return to Celtic Park in January. The attacker was brought back following Kyogo Furuhashi’s exit to Rennes. The Portugal has since scored three goals in 11 outings as he looks to add more to his tally ahead of the upcoming fixtures.

Striker: Mathias Kvistgaarden - signing, £8.4m. At the age of 22, he has bags of potential and will be ready for a new challenge. He has been a hit with Brondby and they are likely to lose him soon. Football Insider reported in February that Celtic are already working on a deal.

Starting XI: Schmeichel, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Tierney; Hatate, Miller, Rexhbecaj; Kuhn, Kvistgaarden, Jota. Valuation: £75m.
