Since building a dynasty and winning their first title together in 2015, Stephen Curry and Steve Kerr have formed a winning, although often lighthearted, culture that has come to define the Golden State Warriors.
Of course, Klay Thompson, Kevon Looney, Draymond Green, Kevin Durant, Andre Idudoula, and others are responsible for the culture in The Bay, but most of the credit can go to Kerr and Curry, who are the center pillars of the Warriors' dynasty.
After more than a month of playing in the system, Jimmy Butler understands why the Warriors have been able to keep finding success.
Butler joined the Warriors from the Miami Heat before the trade deadline. Like the Warriors, the Heat have a defined culture, but there's are more militaristic and less fun than the one Curry has cultivated.
Butler recently spoke about how playing with Curry brings out the best in him.
"He real real. Good dude. Talks. He's always trying to help everybody be great. Laughs. Wants to have a good time. Loves the game. Loves to compete. Loves to win. But he is the guy. He is the man. He is everything everybody says of him. More than anything, he's just nice. I'm not talking about on the court. He's just genuinely a good human being. To everybody. It's very, very, very refreshing. Because he doesn't have to be that way." -Jimmy Butler (via Anthony Slater)
Curry seems to treat all of his teammates the same. He is very friendly and comes off as a lighthearted guy, but they don't call him the Babyfaced Assisian for no reason: he's one of the toughest competitors in the league.
