Scores of people have been injured, including 17 children, in a Russian rocket attack on the Ukrainian city of Sumy – hitting residential buildings, medical facilities and a school.
At the same time, Russian officials held nine hours of talks with their US counterparts in Saudi Arabia, to discuss details of a proposed partial ceasefire. Moscow said that “no breakthroughs should be expected” from the talks – although President Trump was in more bullish mood – insisting everyone wanted to “see it settled”.
