Tottenham Hotspur eyeing summer deal for £30m Chelsea attacker

Tottenham Hotspur are aiming to bolster their attacking depth by adding Noni Madueke

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is struggling to get the best out of his attackers this season. The Australian manager has been dealt a rough hand as many of his key players have either been injured or been out of for most parts of the season. However, Spurs are still in the running for silverware after qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

Club captain Heung-min Son has failed to live up to expectations and has seriously underperformed. As per Sofascore, the South Korea international has scored just 11 goals and provided 11 assists in 40 games in all competitions this season. But that is not as bad as other attackers in the squad that have been a major let-down.

Spurs wingers Heung-min Son, Brennan Johnson and Timo Werner have failed to perform consistently this season

Spurs fans have been frustrated with on-loan winger Timo Werner. The Germany international has failed to make any impact ever since joining the club in January 2023. It was also reported earlier that Werner could be heading back to RB Leipzig at the end of the season after Ange decided against keeping him at the club.

Noni Madueke heading to city rivals Tottenham Hotspur?

The lack of depth and quality on the flanks has made Spurs go into the market in search of a new winger. Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner and Heung-Min Son have all failed to step up this season for Ange Postecoglou and that is partly why the club is sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

According to TBR Football, Tottenham Hotspur are willing to sign Chelsea winger Noni Madueke in the summer. The winger has been in and out of Enzo Maresca’s squad and the Blues are hoping to release him for £30million in the summer. TBR Football had also reported at the start of the season that the 23-year-old was playing for his future at Chelsea this season but has failed to make any sort of impact after scoring a hattrick earlier in the campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur eyeing £30m Chelsea winger Noni Madueke.

Tottenham will be looking to capitalise on the situation and will try to sign the England international to bolster their attack significantly. Madueke joining the Lilywhites will also be a good addition to the squad depth. However, the aforementioned report also suggests that Spurs will have to fend off competition from Newcastle United and Aston Villa for the Chelsea No.11.

Madueke a good fit at N17?

Noni Madueke might just be a valuable signing for Tottenham Hotspur. The England international will provide a different dynamic to the Spurs attack and provide healthy competition to Brennan Johnson and Heung-Min Son.

The Chelsea winger prefers to cut inside on his left foot and dribble past defenders to create space for himself. One of his biggest strengths is crossing from deep to a striker in the box. He is known to deliver pin-point crosses and set up chances for his teammates. Madueke also makes the game easier for an overlapping full-back as he tends to go inside and pull defenders with him, creating space out-wide for the full-back to attack into.

This will be perfectly suitable for the way Ange wants his players to play. Spurs full-back Pedro Porro tends to make overlapping runs and would certainly benefit with Madueke up front. There are lack of wingers that can cross the ball effectively in Ange’s side, so that will also be a different outlet to benefit from through the 23-year-old.
