Kevin Durant named Western Conference Player of the Week

Kevin Durant was named the NBA Western Conference Player of the Week for the 22nd week of the 2024-25 NBA Season, the NBA announced Monday.

The Slim Reaper led the Phoenix Suns to a 3-0 record, their first undefeated week since November. In wins against the Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls, and Cleveland Cavaliers, he averaged 27.3 points per game, along with 6.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds. Durant’s 26-point night bested Eastern Conference player of the week Coby White on March 19th, and his 42-point outing on March 21st led the Valley to their first win against a top-5 seed in the Eastern Conference this year and their first three-game win streak in nearly two months.

With his 33rd Player of the Week honor of his iconic career, he’s now tied with Kobe Bryant for the second-most in NBA history.

For the Suns to get back to the playoffs for the fifth straight season and finish their bumpy season on a high note, the 15-time All-Star playing at an elite level will likely need to be a part of what gets them there.

This version of KD is capable of leading the Suns to a win against anyone. Complete dominant performance.
