Pittsburgh Steelers' draft focus becomes clear

The Pittsburgh Steelers draft focus is becoming much clearer. Pittsburgh is expected to host two more defensive linemen on pre-draft visits, adding to the two they have already hosted in J.J. Pegues and Iowa’s Yahya Black.

Florida State’s Joshua Farmer and SMU’s Elijah Roberts will come to the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex for a pre-draft visit. Farmer told reporters after his pro day last week that he would have a pre-draft with the Steelers.

Joseph Hoyt of Dlls Cowboys reports that Roberts has a visit scheduled with the Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles. For the Steelers, that brings the number up to four defensive tackles, and there will likely be more players that will come to Pittsburgh over the next few weeks as they hash out the players they want to have visit.

As it stands now, there are four known defensive tackles they have met with the Steelers and four more running backs. Those two positions seems to be high on the list, as does quarterback and wide receiver.

None of that is too surprising, and the Steelers have not hosted a first-round prospect just yet. That will change in the coming weeks, but the Steelers have not tipped off their hat to what their first round plans will be, though their actions point toward a defensive linemen being the pick.
