Three straight wins and rolling, the Phoenix Suns now host the Milwaukee Bucks, hoping to continue turning their season around. Their goal is to secure the 10th seed and earn a chance to compete in the Play-In tournament. Some Suns fans would rather skip the play-in altogether, finish 11th, and focus on next year. But something feels different about this Suns team.

They are ready to take on any competitor, and that mindset stems from several key factors. The biggest one? Devin Booker. He has firmly established himself as the true leader of the Suns, setting the tone with his relentless effort and commitment. It’s simple—his way or the highway, and his way is all about playing hard and caring about every possession.

And without Bradley Beal who will likely be out this game, the Suns are rolling just fine.

The talent has always been there, but now the Suns are finally starting to show real signs of hope. With momentum on their side and a renewed sense of purpose, this team is proving they’re not ready to fold just yet.

Uniform Matchup

What to Watch For

The Suns face another team that can light it up from downtown. The Bucks are currently right behind the Suns in three-point shooting, hitting 38.2% from deep, good for third in the NBA. On the other side of the ball, Milwaukee boasts the league’s 10th-best defensive rating at 111.8, making them a tough challenge on both ends.

When you think of the Bucks, size and spacing come to mind. With the Suns likely going small again — Oso Ighodaro expected to be the lone center — the matchup becomes even more intriguing. This time, they face a Bucks team still pushing to climb into the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, raising the stakes even higher.

Oso is the main guy to watch. I don’t want to say the rookies are limited — we don’t yet know their ceiling — but during the game against the Cavaliers, he was hesitant at times to take shots around the rim. His aggression needs to surpass expectations based on what we’ve seen so far this season.

"Going from the G League to not playing to playing to starting to Nick (Richards) whenever he's back or not, all those different elements have just been good for me so that anything coming at me, I can be ready for it." Suns rookie Oso Ighodaro.

There will be a lot on his plate, and it’ll be exciting to see if he can rise to the occasion. Against a team as skilled and disciplined as the Bucks, this game could serve as a crucial test for both him and the Suns’ evolving identity.

Prediction

Suns win. I have seen what I have needed to see within the last three games for me to believe in this team again.

Suns 112, Bucks 107
