USF men’s basketball was struck with another offseason departure as junior guard Kobe Knox announced on Monday that he was entering the NCAA transfer portal, while declaring for the NBA draft.
Knox is the third guard to enter the transfer portal this week, following Sunday’s announcements from sophomore guardJayden Reid, and freshman guard CJ Brown.
“These past [two] years being back home playing in front of Bulls Nation have truly been a dream come true,”Knox said on Instagram on Monday.
The NCAA allows athletes to enter the draft without losing their remaining collegiate eligibility pending an evaluation by the NCAA Undergraduate Advisory Committee.Last year, USF had three players — Chris Youngblood, Selton Miguel and Kasean Pryor — enter the portal and draft simultaneously. In 2025, Knox was one of USF’s top scoring threats on offense.
Across 22 starts,Knox averaged 10.8 points per game, and scored 324 total points during the 2024-25 season.For the 2023-24 season, Knox averaged 8.4 points per game, and scored 277 total points in 33 games started.“I’m excited for what god has in store for me and my basketball career” Knox said on Instagram.
Before transferring to USF, Knox played two seasons at Grand Canyon.
Knox redshirted his first season and then helpedlead the Antelopes to the NCAA tournament where they faced basketball powerhouse Gonzaga during his second season.
