Marshall players work out in front of NFL Scouts

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -Even though defensive end Mike Green was the featured attraction, several former Marshall players got the opportunity to turn some heads of NFL Scouts on Marshall’s pro day.

Fifteen Herd players worked out including the Herd’s All American defensive end. The 6-3, 248 pound edge rusher has risen up the draft ranks and may be a first round draft pick.

Atlanta Falcons Head Coach Raheem Morris was on hand as were scouts from 28 other NFL teams.

Green ran the 3-cone drill in 6.85 seconds, which would be the number one time among defensive ends at the NFL combine. He ran the 20 yard shuttle in 4.25 seconds, which is second best among D-ends at the Combine.

Safety J.J. Roberts also put up impressive numbers. His 4.41 time in the 40-yard dash is tied for 3rd among safeties who ran the 40 at the combine in Indianapolis.
