Arsenal are second in the Premier League table, 12 points away from league leaders Liverpool.
Arsenal are trying to cling onto league leaders Liverpool who now have a 12-point lead at the top of the Premier League season with just nine games left to go for both teams.
The Gunners went into the international break on a high as they beat rivals Chelsea 1-0 at the Emirates, to gain ground on Liverpool who did have a 15-point lead over Mikel Arteta’s side before the Chelsea game.
It will be an almost-impossible task for the Gunners to win the league title, but there is still a chance with nine games left to go.
Arsenal’s last nine games
Arsenal have what could be described as a relatively favourable run-in despite the fact that they still have to play against Liverpool, Newcastle and Bournemouth.
They first return with a game against Fulham on Tuesday 1 April, which won’t be an easy task considering that Marco Silva’s side are still in contention to land a European football spot come the end of the season.
Arsenal then make a trip to Goodison Park for their last game in the Everton stadium on Saturday 5 April. Another tough game considering that the Toffees are unbeaten in their last nine games under manager David Moyes.
After that, they have a game against Brentford sandwiched in between two legs in the Champions League quarter-finals against La Liga giants Real Madrid.
Arsenal will then play against Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace, two games they would be expected to win, before hosting Bournemouth on 3 May in what should be a tricky game at the Emirates.
They then face two of the toughest fixtures in the Premier League first heading to Anfield in a game that will simply have to be a must-win if they are to catch up to Arne Slot’s team in the Premier League title race.
The Gunners then host Newcastle United at the Emirates on 18 May, before making the trip to the south coast to play against Southampton on the final day of the season.
Arsenal’s remaining fixtures: Fulham (H), Everton (A), Brentford (H), Ipswich Town (A), Crystal Palace (H), Bournemouth (H), Liverpool (A), Newcastle (H), Southampton (A).
Liverpool’s remaining fixtures
The Reds also have nine games remaining, with Arsenal hoping that they will drop points in several matches to give them a chance at winning the league title.
Liverpool’s first game after the international break is against rivals Everton on Wednesday 2 April. They dropped points the last time that the two sides met earlier in the year.
They then head to Fulham for a game on Sunday 6 April, before facing another London side West Ham on April 13. After that, Liverpool have a favourable fixture against relegation-battling Leicester, but it then gets harder for Slot’s side.
Their last game in April comes against a Tottenham side who are arguably capable of beating any team on their day, and the Reds then play against Champions League-chasing Chelsea on Saturday 3 May.
Following that, Liverpool welcome the Gunners to Anfield, before having a tricky game against Brighton on 18 May at the Amex Stadium. On the final day of the season, the Reds welcome Crystal Palace to Anfield in a game where they will hope to lift the Premier League trophy for the first time since 2020.
Liverpool’s last nine games: Everton (H), Fulham (A), West Ham (H), Leicester City (A), Tottenham (H), Chelsea (A), Arsenal (H), Brighton (A), Crystal Palace (H).
