Report shares what Manchester United currently think about Jadon Sancho's future amid £5m Chelsea clause

Manchester United need to wheel and deal in the transfer market this summer and Jadon Sancho’s future will be under the microscope.

Ruben Amorim would be forgiven for having the summer transfer window on his mind during this international break.

Manchester United don’t play again until next Tuesday, travelling to take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Amorim’s mind may have wandered towards summer though with United needing major reinforcements in the transfer window.

A new striker is on the wish list with United interested in signing Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.

That won’t come cheap though and United may well need to sell in order to provide major signings for Amorim.

Manchester United stance on Jadon Sancho

United will be looking for loan players to leave permanently.

Aston Villa can sign Marcus Rashford for £40million whilst Antony has been shining at Real Betis.

Then there is Jadon Sancho, another attacking player who hasn’t found his best form for United.

Sancho has been sent on loan to Chelsea this season and the deal has been expected to become permanent this summer.

Reports on Monday suggested that Chelsea could pay United £5million in order to terminate the permanent signing of Sancho, sending him back to Old Trafford.

That is the last thing United need this summer with Sancho surely not in the plans moving forward.

BBC Sport now claim that United still expect Chelsea to keep Sancho and strike a permanent deal this summer.

It’s added that the noises out of Chelsea are that they are planning for Sancho to stay put as things stand.

The report claims that Sancho has shown a strong attitude in Chelsea training and has been doing extra training sessions to become more ‘robust’.

That £5million get-out clause will leave United fans concerned though and until Chelsea take Sancho permanently, that fear will linger.

Jadon Sancho drought continues

We were so excited when United signed Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.

Sancho was so good at Dortmund, racking up goals and assists for fun in the Bundesliga.

That form never really translated to his United career though and as much as he has talent, he needs to leave United permanently – for everybody’s sake.

Sancho is now struggling to come up with goals and assists at Chelsea – sparking the talk of this £5million clause being activated.

Sancho hasn’t scored a single goal since Chelsea’s 4-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur in December – and has only bagged one assist in that time too.

That is 18 games without a goal for Sancho and Chelsea need more from him in the final third or he may well end up being sent back to Old Trafford.
