Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers shone on his first start for England in the 3-0 win over Latvia.

Unai Emery had three representatives in the Three Lions squad and they all started on a historic night for the Villans on 24 March.

Marcus Rashford, Ezri Konsa and Rogers all started, the first-time since 2009 that three Villa stars have started for the national team.

The latter was the standout though, as he left a big impression on new manager Thomas Tuchel.

Aston Villa need to keep Rogers

Rogers has enjoyed a stunning breakthrough this season, notching seven goals and four assists in 28 Premier League appearances.

The additions of Rashford, Donyell Malen and Marco Asensio has not phased him and he has continued to thrive for Emery’s side and the big names in the England squad did not worry him either.

His first Three Lions starting berth is just the latest chapter in a remarkable campaign and will only serve to increase his stock.

Villa may face a tough task to keep hold of Rogers if he continues on his current trajectory and goes on to become one of the biggest stars in British football, especially if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Whether they can match Rogers’ ambitions remains to be seen and it will be a nervous summer for the Villa faithful, however, right now, their focus and the player’s will remain on the charge for a famous European trophies win.
