Everton man wanted back by EFL side this summer

Blackpool boss Steve Bruce has said they would ‘like’ to keep Everton loanee Harry Tyrer for next season.

Blackpool landed the goalkeeper on loan last August. He has since become their number one in this campaign.

Tyrer, 23, has made 34 appearances in all competitions for the Tangerines, 30 of which have come in the league. He is due to return to his parent club later this year.

Bruce has said, as per a report by the Blackpool Gazette:“We’d like him to stay, it’s about whether that’s possible because he’s not ours. The growth we’ve put into him has been huge, he’s got better each week. He certainly feels and looks far more comfortable than he was six months ago, but I suppose that is inevitable when you keep playing.”

He added: “Harry has got better. When we first got him, he hadn’t even played a game in the league, so it was a big ask for him to come in and perform week in, week out. Fair play to him, he’s worked hard and lost a bit of timber – he wants to be a keeper. I’m really pleased for him.”

Blackpool want Harry Tyrer return from Everton

Re-signing Tyrer for next term would be a big boost for Blackpool.

Everton have a big decision to make on what to do with him next and he remains under contract with the Premier League side until June 2026.

He has been on the books at Goodison Park since 2008 and has risen up through the academy.

Tyrer has been a regular for the Toffees at various different youth levels to date but is yet to make a senior appearance.

The Crosby-born man was loaned out for the first time as a youngster in 2022 when Chester came calling in non-league.

Chesterfield then swooped in last season and he played 43 matches for the Spirerites as they won promotion from the National League under Paul Cook.

Will Blackpool re-sign Harry Tyrer from Everton?

It remains to be seen at this stage whether Blackpool will bring Tyrer back.

He has developed and moved up a level in each of the past couple of years so Everton may want to test him somewhere else.

The Tangerines are sat in 10th place in the table and are seven points off the play-offs with eight fixtures left to play following their win at Northampton Town last time out.
