Manchester United stars return to training after injury

Manchester United have endured a season plagued by injuries, with key players spending significant time on the sidelines.

Luke Shaw has struggled with persistent fitness issues, Lisandro Martínez has been in and out of the squad due to recurring setbacks, and Mason Mount has yet to build momentum since his arrival.

Rising star Leny Yoro has also faced injury troubles, adding to the defensive concerns.

With so many absentees, United have often had to reshuffle their squad, making consistency difficult to achieve.

A much-needed boost has now arrived, as two regulars have taken a crucial step in their recovery.

Manchester United insider Sully revealed on X that Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire have resumed grass training, marking a key milestone in their road back to full fitness.

While their return to action is not immediate, the development is seen as a major positive for the squad.

“Understand both Mainoo and Maguire have returned back to grass training this morning,” Sully said.

“Both have done well in their rehab work in recent weeks and fitness levels have improved.

“Doesn’t necessarily mean they are available but a huge boost.”

Sully further suggested that Maguire could make his comeback before Mainoo.

Additionally, Yoro is reportedly making good progress in his recovery, providing further hope for the team.

Kobbie Mainoo, who has been out since mid-February with a muscle issue, was adjusting to new tactical roles before his injury.

Ruben Amorim had experimented with deploying him in various positions, including as an attacking midfielder and a False 9, but his absence left a gap in the squad.

Meanwhile, Harry Maguire, a vital presence at the back, has missed crucial fixtures due to a calf problem.

His absence was felt in key matches, including both Europa League clashes against Real Sociedad and league games against Arsenal and Leicester.

With United desperate for stability, the return of both players will come as a timely lift.
