Newcastle United are looking to improve several positions in the upcoming transfer window.
The Magpies are due an influx of money thanks to player sales and heavy losses from previous seasons being chalked off meaning there is much more room to spend this summer.
Newcastle United took a sensible approach to the last three transfer windows, only signing young players with small price tags. Newcastle fans were frustrated with Paul Mitchell during the January transfer window after it was revealed the sporting director had to back out of deals for players like Adukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis because their asking prices were far too high.
Fans will be hoping that the increased transfer budget means there will be no similar story in the summer. Mitchell will look to recruit from the Premier League as well as across Europe – the priority is to sign a right winger but Newcastle will also look at bringing in a centre-back to replace the likes of Fabian Schar who is now 33 and is yet to sign a new deal.
With Newcastle already identifying transfer targets, a Premier League star has made a huge admission that can only mean good things for Newcastle and Mitchell’s mission to improve the squad for Eddie Howe.

Justin Kluivert makes huge Dean Huijsen admission
Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen has been sensational on the South Coast this season. The 19-year-old has been a rock at the back at times, helping the Cherries up into Champions League contention.
Newcastle wanted Huijsen in 2024 while he was still a Juventus player and worth around £15m. However, the Spaniard opted to sign for Bournemouth and has taken the move in his stride.
This summer, Mitchell is still keen on bringing the youngster to Tyneside but Newcastle must pay £50m for Huijsen if they want Bournemouth to let him go.

Bournemouth winger Justin Kluivert spoke to MARCA following Holland’s 3-3 draw with Spain on Sunday where he was asked about his Premier League teammate.
“He plays for Bournemouth with me,” he said.
“He is a great player. Spain has a phenomenon for so many years.
“He is truly amazing. He came to England in the summer and adapted fantastically. He is so young and he already plays for Spain – and he plays like this.
“I’m sure he will have a lot of offers in the summer. And we all know that next year he won’t be with us at Bournemouth.”
Newcastle United face tough competition for Dean Huijsen
There is no surprise that Huijsen has his fair share of suitors given just how well he has performed this season at 19 years old.
In a coincidental turn of events, Newcastle loaned Lloyd Kelly to Juventus to help the Old Lady in their efforts to find a suitable replacement for Huijsen. That loan move is yet to work out, however.
According to the Sun, Spanish giants Real Madrid are interested in Huijsen and are willing to pay his £50m release clause in the summer. Huijsen initially struggled to cement his place in Andoni Iraola’s starting XI but has been a regular starter since December.
Should Newcastle beat Real Madrid to Huijsen, it would be the second player who has rejected a La Liga move to join the Magpies. Antonio Cordero rejected Real Madrid for Newcastle, and the young winger is expected to join on a free contract this summer.
