Man Utd could welcome Amad Diallo back to action before the end of the current season.

Amad Diallo teased his upcoming return from injury in a social media post. The Manchester United forward has been sidelined since he suffered an ankle injury in training last month, in what was a huge blow to the side.

The Ivorian had arguably been United's best player prior to the injury setback and was revitalised following Erik ten Hag's dismissal as manager. Amad shone under interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy and took his game to another level under the guidance of Ruben Amorim.

Amad featured in every Premier League game under Amorim up until the ankle injury but there is encouraging news on the injury front after he was initially ruled out for the remainder of the season. It is now hoped the 22-year-old will return to action in the coming weeks and he took to social media to further fuel the possibility of an early return.

Amad teases injury return

Amad Diallo is known for his viral social media posts and went online to share his latest injury update this week. The 22-year-old uploaded a picture of himself on Snapchat alongside a sand timer and smiley face emoji as he works his way back to fitness.

It is clear the forward's spirits are high after his setback and there is a growing belief he should be available for selection by early May, if not even sooner.

Speaking earlier in the month, head coach Ruben Amorim revealed Amad was on course to return to action before the end of the campaign. "Even Amad, we'll see in the end of the last month," he said after the 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad in the Europa League. "I don't want to say anything to you but I have the hope to have Amad before, we'll see. Lisandro (Martinez) is out. Kobbie (Mainoo) can return. (Harry) Maguire we have to be careful. Manu (Ugarte) will return. I think Luke Shaw and Mason Mount can return also. They are definitely going to return, especially Mason Mount."

The possible return of Amad would be a huge boost to United ahead of their crucial Europa League matches as they look to salvage their season with Champions League qualification. The Ivorian is still registered in their European squad for the season and has scored twice in the Europa League so far.
