Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has spent the majority of his time at Old Trafford managing a group of players with limited options.

Injuries have been a problem throughout the season for United with a number of first-team stars out. Currently, during the international break, the Red Devils are without 10 players.

Between now and the end of the season, United will play at least 11 games. Should they continue their Europa League journey, another three games will follow to give Amorim plenty of fixtures to oversee.

In the 3-0 win over Leicester City before the international break, United were forced to name two academy goalkeepers, Dermot Mee and Elyh Harrison, on the bench alongside Tyler Fredicson.

The list of unavailable players sat at 10 players with Amad, Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martinez, Leny Yoro, Jonny Evans, Altay Bayindir, Harry Maguire and Tom Heaton out injured and Patrick Dorgu sitting out due to suspension.

Another player was added to that list of casualties at Leicester with Ayden Heaven being stretchered off and later spotted walking out of the stadium in a protective boot. The Manchester Evening News understands the January signing is now out of the boot and could return to training after the international break.

Ayden Heaven down

For the trip to Nottingham Forest on April 1, Amorim is facing the potential of welcoming a number of players back to his squad. Whilst it may be too early for Heaven to feature at the City Ground, there is some optimism that Maguire, Yoro and Mainoo could all return to the matchday squad.

At full fitness, the trio all play for United. With Heaven out, welcoming back central defenders is pivotal for Amorim and having one of Maguire or Yoro would feel like a new signing.

Furthermore, excitement over Amad's return has intensified in the last 24 hours after he dropped a hint on social media. The forward is set to miss the remainder of the season after suffering an ankle injury last month but on Monday night, the 22-year-old posted a picture of himself on Snapchat along with a sand time and smiley face emoji.

Whether all players make an immediate return to the first-team squad for the game against Forest or not, it is hoped all five will be back and available for Amorim soon.
