Shearer Claims Arsenal Star Has "Already Made It At The Top Level" Despite Only Making His Debut Back In September

**Premier League icon Alan Shearer believes Arsenal defender Myles Lewis-Skelly has “already made it” at the highest level despite only being 18 years of age.**

The left-back scored on his England debut against Albania on Friday and, speaking about Lewis-Skelly’s performance, Shearer was not shy in saying that he is a massive fan of the player:

“What a career he’s got ahead of him. I love his attitude. He’s got a bit of arrogance about him, he’s got a strut about him, he’s got the look about him where he feels as if he’s, I don’t know, he’s already made it at the top level.”

“I love the attitude and I love everything about him that he’s bringing to his early part of his career and he’s only going to get better. He’s classy, he’s tough, he’s hard, he’s got a nasty side to him and I love that, I love someone who’s got the arrogance about him. Just the way he just the way he handles himself and the way he is, and his attitude and everything, I love everything about him already.”

Lewis-Skelly’s rise to prominence has been rapid

------------------------------------------------

It should not be forgotten that the teenager hadn’t even made his senior debut for the Gunners before the start of this season.

Lewis-Skelly’s first appearance for the first team came against Manchester City back in September when he came on as a substitute in injury time.

He has subsequently gone on to make 26 appearances in all competitions, including 16 starts. He has managed to move ahead of the likes of summer signing Riccardo Calafiori, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney in the pecking order at left-back.

The Arsenal academy is producing gems

-------------------------------------

Lewis-Skelly is by no means the only youth product who has been turning heads, with Ethan Nwaneri having looked just as impressive in some games in recent months.

There is also a lot of excitement about Max Dowman. The 15-year-old is ineligible to play for the senior side this campaign but fans should expect him to feature prominently in pre-season ahead of 2025/26.
