Potter Has 'Asked' West Ham To Fight Hard To Land Ligue One Ace After Arsenal And Man United Table 'Proposals'

West Ham have made another offer to Lille striker Jonathan David at the behest of Graham Potter, according to reports.

Claret & Hugh claim that the Hammers boss has “asked” the club’s hierarchy to make a concerted effort to secure the Canadian international’s services.

David is out of contract at the end of the season and will be available on a free transfer but he has plenty of suitors.

It is believed that West Ham’s latest contract proposal is still not among the most lucrative offers that the forward has received from interested clubs.

2 other Premier League clubs have offered contracts to David

In addition to West Ham, Claret & Hugh say that the 25-year-old’s representatives have received “proposals” from both Arsenal and Manchester United.

David also has been approached by AC Milan, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona, although the latter’s interest has been played down by reports in Spain over the past week.

Why are West Ham facing so much competition for the player?

David has been in great form for Lille this season, having scored 23 goals in all competitions, including 7 in the Champions League where he found the back of the net against some top European teams.

The Canadian got the winner against Real Madrid, before bagging a brace against their city rivals Atletico in the next game. He also got on the scoresheet versus Juventus, Liverpool, Feyenoord and Dortmund.

With David only being 25, he has the best years ahead of him too, so his availability on a free makes him a very attractive target. It is understandable why Potter wants him at the London Stadium but it does look like it will be a difficult ask to secure his signature, considering the competition.
