After an impressive, high-scoring victory over Indonesia last time out, the Socceroos rose from the mire of a hugely congested Group C in this round of AFC qualifying to put themselves in the box seat for the second automatic qualification spot behind already-qualified Japan.
But any slip up now could be hugely detrimental as Tony Popovic's side aim to avoid the next phase of qualification and head straight to North America.
