Report: Nottingham Forest told how much Viktor Gyokeres will cost this summer, but there’s a…

Nottingham Forest are going to leave no stone unturned this summer when it comes to transfers.

If the Reds secure Champions League football, Evangelos Marinakis looks set to go seriously big in the market.

A number of players have already been linked with Forest ahead of the summer and at least one marquee arrival looks like coming to the City Ground.

Marinakis was keen to sign a striker in January but given that it never happened, that looks like being the priority during the next transfer window.

Viktor Gyokeres was linked with Forest last week, and any club that is keen to sign him should be aware that he’s not going to be leaving Sporting CP on the cheap.

Nottingham Forest discover Viktor Gyokeres valuation

The conversation around clubs and Gyokeres will rumble on all summer long with his goalscoring record in Portugal nothing short of ridiculous.

Gyokeres has scored 83 goals in 91 games for Sporting CP and naturally, that has led to a number of Premier League clubs entering the race for his signature.

According to Florian Plettenberg, the Portuguese outfit are not willing to do business for anything less than £50 million, whilst they could ask for closer to £60 million.

Forest have been mentioned in the mix to sign him, but in a major twist, Plettenberg has some disappointing news for the Reds’ fan base.

He’s claimed that it’s crystal clear right now that Gyokeres won’t be joining Forest in the summer with a sporting project – at a massive club – in his sights.

Forest will target marquee striker if Champions League is secured

With more games to come in any European competition, the Forest squad will need to be bigger.

However, if the Champions League is on the agenda for next season, the Reds will need to make sure the squad is not only sizeable but also brimming with quality too.

Forest were linked with Ademola Lookman yesterday and perhaps the Nigerian performer is a more realistic target for the Reds over Gyokeres.

The Swedish performer might have Anthony Elanga in his ear on international duty, but it’s no surprise that he has a bigger club than Forest in his sights.

Whatever happens, the summer looks set to be a very exciting one in the transfer market from a Forest perspective.
