Raheem Sterling is keen to remain in the Premier League next season as he is now considered “certain” to leave Chelsea permanently this summer.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 30-year-old has no future at Stamford Bridge under Enzo Maresca.
However, there is a lack of interest from Premier League sides as things stand as clubs have been put off by the move following his disappointing loan spell at Arsenal.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Arsenal are concerned about Sterling’s performances after failing to impress Mikel Arteta in training.
Interest from a number of Saudi Pro League sides has also emerged in recent weeks, but Sterling is set to consider alternative options as he is reluctant to make that move.

Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted his Arsenal struggles have led interested sides to question his abilities.
“Under normal circumstances, there would be interest in him,” he told Football Insider.
“But I know there are a few clubs who have concerns about his ability.
“Chelsea were very quick to move him on last year, but he’s gone to Arsenal and can’t get a game even when they’ve been struggling with injuries up front.
“That, for me, would raise serious questions about his future.
“Based on what he’s done at Arsenal, they’re not going to take him permanently.
“Chelsea don’t want him back, I’m certain he’s going to leave there.
“There will always be somebody willing to take him, he’s got a good reputation and you don’t just become a bad player over night, there’s obvious talent there.
“I hear he wants to move to another Premier League club, and he’d be an asset to them.
“I think he’d still be a good option for a mid-table team like Palace, Brentford, Bournemouth.
“But as far as I know, that interest just isn’t there at the moment.
“There’s always the Saudi option and they are interested, but I’m not convinced that’s a move Sterling wants to make at this stage, he wants to stay at the top level.”

Man United respond to Kobbie Mainoo interest
Chelsea are planning for another busy summer window with both incoming and outgoing deals on the cards as they continue their financial backing of Maresca.
Man United star Kobbie Mainoo has been a key target, but Brown told Football Insider that Man United would prefer to sell Mainoo abroad.
The 19-year-old is widely expected to leave Old Trafford after failing to agree terms over a new contract, placing a number of elite sides on alert.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Man United will accept £70million for Mainoo as they are keen to raise money from his departure.
