Wolves star Hwang wows Heung-min Son and leaves South Korea teammates applauding him in training

Wolves fans are hoping to see a bit more productivity from Hwang Hee-chan before the current season ends.

It has not been a particularly good campaign for the 28-year-old, who has struggled for rhythm in a Wolves shirt.

After being one of the standout players in 2023/24, Hwang Hee-chan has really dropped off, and scored just two goals for the club across all competitions.

Hwang recently said he is finally pain-free after struggling with injury, and supporters now hope that he will play a big part in Wolves’ run-in.

The club are in a healthy position right now, but there is still work to be done to see the job though.

And seeing the job through will be much easier if Hwang is playing with confidence.

Last week, Hwang scored for South Korea against Oman in what was a boost for Vitor Pereira.

The star collected a brilliant through ball from Kang-in Lee and finished emphatically.

The hope now is that Hwang will build on that performance. And seemingly, he has been looking the part in training with the national team.

Journalist Joel Kim follows the national team, and uploaded a clip of Hwang in training.

As Hwang Hee-chan strikes the ball into the net:

Son Heung-min: "HWANG HEE-CHAN!!! We got you on camera!"

Hwang Hee-chan: "Did you get that?"😎

Don't sleep on this dude. He had a terrific goal vs Oman, he's confident going in tomorrow.👊🫡🇰🇷#황희찬 #WWFC pic.twitter.com/LlmEaCYdyJ

The Wolves ace fires in a shot, leading to team captain Heung-min Son to shout: “HWANG HEE-CHAN!!! We got you on camera!”

Hwang replied: “Did you get that?”

Journalist Kim then urged fans not to ‘sleep’ on Hwang, who he reckons is very confident going into today’s game against Jordan.

Hwang still has role to play for Wolves this season

Hwang hasn’t had the season he would have been hoping for after last term.

But there is still time for him to make an impact for Wolves, with nine game remaining in the Premier League.

Hwang Hee-chan for Wolves in 2024/25

Appearances – 22

Minutes played – 847

Goals – 2

Assists – 1

That goal he scored against Oman will hopefully give him confidence, which we have established is such a key thing for this player.

The job isn’t done yet for Wolves but hopefully it will be soon, and Hwang can rediscover his mojo for the Old Gold.
