Chelsea prepared to let their French attacker leave in summer

Chelsea are prepared to let their French attacker leave in the summer window. The player was already very close to depart in January but the deal collapsed. However, it is very likely to get completed in the summer window.

The star in question here is Christopher Nkunku who joined the Blues in summer 2023. He was superb with Leipzig which made Chelsea to pay £52 million for him. But the deal worked out neither for the player, nor for the club.

Nkunku was injured for long-time in his first season at West London. He played only 14 games last season. But, he made a good recovery and had good start to this season. He has so far played 38 games this season in which he has registered 14 goals and 5 assists.

However, Nkunku has still not established himself as a regular-starter. In addition, Enzo Maresca uses him as striker or winger. The 27 year old likes to play as attacking midfielder but he is unable to get above Cole Palmer.

Chelsea ready to let Nkunku leave in summer

Nkunku was wanted by Bayern Munich in January itself. The player was also ready to join them. But, Chelsea demanded £60 million which caused the deal to end in failure. But, the 27 year old can be seen on the market once again very soon.

According to GiveMeSport, Nkunku is heading to exit from Stamford Bridge this summer. The club is not impressed with his recent performances. In addition, they are set to welcome some new players which will force them to part ways with current ones.

Chelsea are set to welcome Estevao this summer. He is expected to get directly into the first-team. His agent recently said that the Blues view Estevao as number ten. This will decrease the chances of Nkunku even more to play as attacking midfielder.
