Steve Bruce has just publicly announced he’s desperate to sign Everton player this summer

Everton have always produced talented players from their academy.

Wayne Rooney, Leon Osman and Ross Barkley are a few notable examples whilst Jarrad Branthwaite is a more recent one having developed with the under-21s after a £1m switch from Carlisle United.

Everton have some really exciting teenagers who are being tipped to make the first team over the next few years.

Coaches have high hopes for Harrison Armstrong, who is currently enjoying a really successful loan spell at Derby County.

Derby fans have been blown away by how good Armstrong is and it seems inevitable he will be in David Moyes’ plans next term.

Martin Sherif is another talented young player and so too is Harry Tyrer, who’s on a season-long loan at Blackpool.

The League One outfit have won three of their last four games and Tyrer’s performances have impressed manager Steve Bruce, so much so, that he’s now publicly announced his desire to sign him permanently this summer.

Steve Bruce wants to sign Everton’s Harry Tyrer

Blackpool boss Steve Bruce has been impressed with Harry Tyrer’s development this season and now wants to make the goalkeeper’s loan deal a permanent one.

“We’d like him to stay, it’s about whether that’s possible because he’s not ours,” Bruce said.

“The growth we’ve put into him has been huge, he’s got better each week. He certainly feels and looks far more comfortable than he was six months ago, but I suppose that is inevitable when you keep playing.

“Harry has got better. When we first got him, he hadn’t even played a game in the league, so it was a big ask for him to come in and perform week in, week out. Fair play to him, he’s worked hard and lost a bit of timber – he wants to be a keeper. I’m really pleased for him.”

Everton have big decision to make on Tyrer

Tyrer is out of contract this summer and as it stands, he’s set to leave on a free transfer.

Everton must decide whether to offer him a new deal, though, no offers will be made until safety is mathematically secure.

The 23-year-old won’t be displacing Jordan Pickford anytime soon, so perhaps it’s best to allow him to leave.

The Toffees have a highly-rated 18-year-old goalkeeper coming through the ranks at the moment called George Pickford, who isn’t related.

He’s been capped at youth level by England, so clearly he’s got pedigree in the academy space.
