A recent update in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code review hinted at the upcoming Google Pixel 10 series. A change titled "Parallel Module Loading: Add performance mode" specifically mentions the Pixel 10.
The code shows a 30% reduction in loading time for the Pixel 10 during part of the boot process. But, this 30% reduction only applies to one part of the multi-stage startup and may not lead to a 30% faster overall boot time. The actual effect on user experience is uncertain and might be hard to notice, as reported by Android Authority.
The Pixel 10 series is said to run on the Tensor G5 chip, built on TSMC's 3nm process. Rumors say the standard model will have 12GB of RAM, and the Pixel 10 Pro may have 16 GB. Currently testing on Android 15, the Pixel 10 series will likely launch with Android 16.
The base Pixel 10 model is rumored to have a triple-camera system for the first time, possibly with a main sensor, telephoto lens, and periscope zoom. A new AI assistant, Pixel Sense, may also be introduced.
The Pixel 10 series is likely to be announced in August 2025.
