On March 20, the Chinese government ship Yuanwang 6 celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Fiji in Suva Port, Fiji. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Strategic Planning, National Development and Statistics, Hon. Biman Chand Prasad, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises and Communications, Hon. Manoa Seru Kamikamica, Chief Justice Salesi Temo, several cabinet ministers, senior officers from RFMF, people from all walks of life in Fiji, and overseas Chinese in Fiji and representatives of Chinese enterprises. A total of more than 100 people boarded the Yuanwang 6. Ambassador Zhou Jian and diplomats of Chinese Embassy in Fiji attended the event.

The guests listened to aerospace science lectures, visited the facilities on board, attended the deck reception. Ambassador Zhou Jian pointed out in his speech that the Yuanwang Fleet is a peaceful envoy engaged in aerospace science, a mobile bridge connecting China and the South Pacific, and a witness to the in-depth development of China-Fiji relations. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Fiji. China is willing to use the Yuanwang Fleet as a platform to make aerospace cooperation a new highlight for the development of bilateral relations.

In his speech, Hon. Manoa Seru Kamikamica spoke highly of the contribution of the Yuanwang Fleet to the global aerospace industry and Fijian government is willing to provide support for the Yuanwang Fleet to dock in Fiji.
