From his early years in rural county Cork to standing on the sideline with a front-row seat for a Pep Guardiola training session, Shayne Murphy laughs when the question is put to him – what did he put on his CAO to end up working at one of the biggest clubs in the world?

“I went to UL [University of Limerick] to do computer game development!” he grins.
