There is a lot to look forward to if you are a Celtic supporter.
Brendan Rodgers is pushing for the Treble, and when that is done, everyone is waiting for the moment Kieran Tierney officially returns to Celtic.
It could, and in the eyes of the Celtic Park faithful, probably should have happened in January, but from a financial perspective, it’s another display of brilliant business from the club.
Tierney left his boyhood club for Arsenal in 2019 for a transfer fee of £25 million, and now, he heads back to Glasgow for absolutely nothing at the age of 27.
It makes that left-back spot rather interesting because Greg Taylor is set to leave, after being the main guy in that position for several years, whilst on-loan Crystal Palace star, Jeffrey Schlupp, has a deal until the end of the season.
It’s pretty clear that Tierney will become Celtic’s starting left-back for the long term, and Andy Walker even probably thinks it has prevented another boyhood fan from joining.

Celtic told Kieran Tierney has ‘stolen a march’ on Liverpool’s Andy Robertson playing for the Hoops
Andy Robertson has been a fine servant for Liverpool, spending eight years at the club and winning everything on offer.
But, at the age of 31, the boyhood Celtic fan has found that his form has dipped slightly, although he is heading for another Premier League title.
MORE CELTIC STORIES
Walker labelled Robertson as a ‘special’ player and thinks, with Tierney joining Celtic in the summer, his Scotland teammate has ‘stolen a march’ on the Liverpool man donning the green and white colours one day.
“When you look at Kieran Tierney, and he is on the bench, and I know that Andy Robertson is our captain and is guaranteed to play,” said Walker.
“But he is only guaranteed to play because he is a special player and he gives you a level of performance that very rarely drops.
“So, it might not be his best season for Liverpool, but he is still an outstanding talent. I don’t see anyone better to come in and take his place.
“He has been fit pretty much the whole time (as a Liverpool player). I think he has got another couple of years, at least, to go before he wants to think about elsewhere. I know Celtic is his team, maybe, Kieran Tierney has stolen a march on him there. I am sure he still has a lot to offer for club and county.”
Robertson’s trophy-winning career
The boy who dreamed of playing for Celtic, came through at Queen’s Park, before going on to have an outstanding career.
Robertson is still going strong and is also the captain of Scotland, as Steve Clarke dreams of securing a ticket to the 2026 World Cup.
That dream of playing for Celtic might not happen for Robertson, but he can certainly hold his head up high for the trophies he has collected.
