Sean Dyche is out of a job after being fired by Everton and replaced by David Moyes at Goodison Park in January.

The Friedkin Group (TFG) decided to sack the former Burnley head coach as the Toffees found themselves in a dire position.

Premier League relegation looked realistic at Goodison Park under Dyche as they hovered close to the drop zone.

Moyes’ arrival has turned things around at Everton, and they are well on their way to retaining their English top-flight status ahead of the move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

Everton sack could lead to Dyche taking a year off

Dyche may want to take a year off after being sacked by the Merseyside outfit, Troy Deeney says.

The former Watford striker suggested the English manager could potentially take a hiatus after a tumultuous year at Goodison Park.

While Deeney feels Dyche might want a break from football, he also admits the former Burnley head coach could be a forgotten man in a year’s time.

Dyche’s record in the Premier League at Everton this season.

Speaking on talkSPORT (25 March, 7:38), the ex-forward said: “I wonder whether [Dyche] wants to take a year out maybe and enjoy himself. That last year at Everton felt… you didn’t see the same Dyche that we all know. He wasn’t as robust and front-footed as he normally is.

“It just looked like he and the Everton fans had enough of each other. I think he might want to take a little bit of time.”

Jeff Stelling responded: “The problem is sometimes, if you do take a year out, you can quickly be forgotten.”

Deeney added: “Absolutely, that is very true as well.”

Moyes proves Dyche wrong at Goodison Park

Dyche’s time at Everton was marred by negativity as the results and style of play underwhelmed fans.

The Toffees struggled for consistency and to get points on the board under the former Burnley head coach as they battled relegation.

Dyche was unable to get the best out of the team in recent months, but Moyes has proven him wrong with an even limited squad.

Beto’s transformation at Goodison Park since the Scottish manager’s return has been surprising to see, but it highlights the former Burnley head coach’s inadequacies.

Everton are on an eight-game unbeaten run in the Premier League, something the fans wouldn’t have arguably dreamed of under Dyche.

The 53-year-old manager had built a reputation of being pragmatic and defensively sound before coming to the Blues, but that wasn’t seen much in his final year in charge.

While the Merseyside outfit failed to score enough goals under the former Burnley head coach, their backline wasn’t the most solid either.

Everton undoubtedly needed a change, and supporters are glad to see Moyes making an immediate impact.
