Dominic Vose was a popular figure with fans during his time at Wrexham

Former Wrexham favourite Dominic Vose, who netted a goal hailed as the greatest in the club's history, is now showcasing his skills in the Baller League. Vose, who made 31 appearances for the Welsh side during the 2015-16 season, was a hit at the Racecourse Ground, scoring eleven goals and impressing with his attacking prowess.

One of his most memorable moments came when he scored an extraordinary solo goal for the Red Dragons in a National League match against Gateshead in November 2015. The former West Ham youth player picked up the ball just inside the opposition half after a quick free kick, dribbled past five opponents and fired home past the goalkeeper.

A video of the spectacular goal, titled 'THE BEST GOAL IN 151 YEARS! Dom Vose scores our best ever goal', was shared by Wrexham on YouTube and has since racked up over 500,000 views. Vose was sold by Wrexham to then-League One side Scunthorpe United in February 2016 for an undisclosed fee.

Despite struggling to break into the first team in Lincolnshire, Vose has continued his football journey, playing for numerous clubs, primarily in the lower tiers of English football. Now, at the age of 31, Vose is embarking on an exciting new chapter in his career, having been selected to play in the newly-established Baller League.

The competition, which kicked off at the Copper Box Arena in London on Monday night, sees former professional footballers and YouTubers leading small-sided teams in head-to-head matches. The league, showcasing a dazzling array of talent including ex-Premier League stars and notable influencers like league figurehead KSI, witnessed an impressive opening display from Vose in his first appearance for Santan FC—headed by British rapper Dave.

He bagged the first goal in their 6-4 win against Trebol FC, managed by ex-Real Madrid star Luis Figo. The unique six-a-side competition first sprang into life in Germany after being conceived by entrepreneur Felix Starck, along with German national player Mats Hummels and former Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski.

The managerial line-up boasts football legends such as Gary Lineker, John Terry, and Alan Shearer.

Vose, a name held dear by Wrexham supporters, left under a cloud in February 2016 after telling NorthWalesLive he wanted to stay and help the club's promotion ambitions. However, he felt forced to leave when Wrexham accepted an offer from National League rivals Grimsby Town.

His subsequent move to Scunthorpe came after feeling edged out at the Racecourse Ground under the management of Gary Mills. Explaining his departure, Vose said: "My agent spoke to Gary and felt that he was going to go in a different direction regarding me and that I wasn't likely to feature again, so I didn't want to stay there and not play football.

"It showed the intention of accepting the bid from a rival club in Grimsby, it just showed what direction the club wanted to go regarding me. That spoke volumes to me." Wrexham's CEO Don Bircham later contradicted Vose's version of the events.

Explaining the reasons behind the exit, he said: "The manager had made a decision that Dominic wasn't part of his plans, so it as purely for footballing reasons and nothing else.

He added: "There was absolutely no pressure from the board whatsoever, in fact we talked it through very carefully with Gary to make sure he was doing the right thing. But it was purely a football decision and we have to respect the manager."
