Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold remains on course to join Real Madrid this summer, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Spanish giants have sent their contract proposal to the player and his representatives, and discussions are now focused on finalising the details of the deal.
The move will suit Alexander-Arnold, whose glaring defensive deficiencies are often exposed in the cut and thrust of the Premier League.

Alexander-Arnold would be a perfect fit for Madrid
Dani Carvajal has been Madrid’s first-choice right-back for years, but the club must plan for the future now he has reached the veteran stage of his career.
Alexander-Arnold would be an ideal long-term replacement, offering Madrid creativity, set-piece skill and excellent passing ability.
His defensive weaknesses have been well-documented. Liverpool would be unlikely to miss him if they sign Jeremie Frimpong as his replacement.
However, Alexander Arnold would have more freedom to attack in Spanish football. His pinpoint crosses and creative play would be a tremendous asset to their famed attacking style.
A transfer to the La Liga giants would enhance his global profile, potentially opening doors to new sponsorships and commercial deals.
