‘Ready to make a permanent move’ – Liverpool reporter predicts summer exit for Blackburn Rovers …

Blackburn Rovers loan ace Owen Beck has been tipped to leave Liverpool permanently in the summer by reporter David Lynch.

Blackburn Rovers have made good use of the loan market over recent years have done so again in the 2024/25 season.

A fruitful link has been struck up with Liverpool, largely stemming from the success Harvey Elliott found at Ewood Park before making his breakthrough at Anfield.

This season, Owen Beck has found valuable Championship action with Rovers. Though disrupted by injury at times, the Welshman has been a strong performer when available and has managed second-tier football well after a fruitful stay in Scotland last year.

Beck’s time at Blackburn Rovers is nearing a close and back at his parent club, questions will be asked what lays ahead of the 22-year-old.

Now though, discussing Beck’s fate, reporter David Lynch has said the time may have come for him to move on from Liverpool on a permanent basis.

Speaking live on the Anfield Index YouTube channel, reporter Lynch said the Blackburn Rovers loan man is ‘ready’ for a permanent transfer after his time with the Lancashire outfit. He said:

“I actually thought that Owen Beck was the closest to making the first-team after impressing on loan at Blackburn Rovers, but he will likely leave this summer too.

“He’s 22, he’s ready to make a permanent move, Liverpool are going to sign a left back. They’ve got Andy Robertson, they’ve got [Kostas] Tsimikas, one of whom they need to shift.

“I don’t think a spot will open up for him there, although football can be about timing like that in many ways.”

In the shop window

It seems change is afoot at Liverpool and while opportunity may knock for some, it could be that the likes of Blackburn Rovers ace is among those who head for greener pasturers.

It means this Ewood Park loan spell has been a chance to put himself in the shop window, and there will likely be plenty of suitors. Beck has been a hit with Rovers, showing he can do both sides of the game.

The 22-year-old has a great left foot and his runs up the wing have made him an attacking threat but the defensive side of his game is strong too.

Beck will have admirers if the door opens for him to leave Liverpool. It would be interesting to see if Blackburn Rovers eyed a permanent deal after his loan success.

However, another club who could see their interests piqued is Sheffield United.

The Blades were credited with interest in Beck earlier this season. They currently have Harrison Burrows as their starting left-back but regardless of which division they find themselves in, Beck could make for strong competition in Chris Wilder’s ranks.
