Jadon Sancho is interested in a move back to Borussia Dortmund, it has been claimed. The Manchester United forward has spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Chelsea.

Sancho, 25, joined the Blues in August on a season-long loan with a £25million obligation to buy. However, it has since been revealed that Enzo Maresca's side can opt out of the agreement by paying United £5m instead and sending him back to Old Trafford at the end of the campaign.

At this stage, it's unclear Chelsea are going to honour the obligation or decide not to keep the England international. And if the Blues chose against signing Sancho on a permanent deal, there is a real chance his career could be left uncertain and back at square one after falling out of favour at United.

Despite this, Sancho is not anticipated to be short of offers at the end of the season. Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are said to be among those queuing up to land him this summer.

And BILD now report that Sancho has expressed his desire to return to Dortmund. It's stated that he has 'never lost touch with his old love' and a third spell at Dortmund is considered as a 'dream' for Sancho.

Sancho first joined Dortmund from Manchester City in 2017 and proved to be a revelation at Signal Iduna Park, scoring 50 goals and 62 assists in 137 appearances. He then had a second spell at Dortmund last season after returning to the club on loan from United - two-and-a-half years on from his £73m switch to Old Trafford.

Having made his competitive return for United in the Community Shield against Manchester City in August, there was a hope that Sancho could force himself back into Erik ten Hag's plans. But Sancho didn't feature in either of United's first two matches and inevitably joined Chelsea on loan.

After enjoying a positive start to life at Stamford Bridge, Sancho's form has declined over the last couple of months. In fact, he hasn't directly contributed to a goal since January 4 and his performances have concerned some at Chelsea, though head coach Enzo Maresca has continued to select him.
