Brentford started the stronger of the two sides and took the lead in the 14th minute through Ben Krauhaus, who calmly slotted past the goalkeeper to give the Bees an early advantage.
Bournemouth came close to levelling before the break, with Adu-Adjei playing in Silcott-Duberry, but a sharp save from the Brentford keeper preserved the visitors' 1-0 lead at half-time.
The second half told a very different story.
Just eight minutes after the restart, Bournemouth found their equaliser as Winterburn rifled a shot from the edge of the box into the net to make it 1-1. That goal sparked the Cherries into life, and from that moment, they never looked back.
In the 57th minute, Koby Mottoh’s cross found Adu-Adjei, who coolly tucked the ball into the bottom corner to put Bournemouth ahead. Moments later, Adu-Adjei rattled the crossbar, but Dominic Sadi was alert to guide in the rebound, extending the lead to 3-1.
Adu-Adjei then doubled his tally with another composed finish, before turning provider again, this time squaring for substitute Kian Tydeman to slot home Bournemouth’s fifth.
The relentless forward completed his hat-trick in the 66th minute, finishing a precise pass from Remy Rees-Dottin to make it 6-1 and cap off a remarkable run of six goals in just 13 minutes.
The attack didn’t stop there. Tydeman turned provider, setting up fellow substitute Jonny Day for Bournemouth’s seventh, before converting from the penalty spot after Ashley Clark was brought down in the box to round off an incredible 8-1 victory.
It was a sensational performance from Bournemouth’s youngsters, and particularly from Adu-Adjei, who finished with three goals and two assists in a display of ruthless attacking football.
