Crystal Palace are making progress towards an agreement over a new contract for Oliver Glasner, sources have told Football Insider.

That comes amid interest from RB Leipzig, who are eyeing the 50-year-old as a potential option to replace under-fire boss Marco Rose at the end of the season.

Glasner has previously managed in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, and has emerged as one of the top options for the position.

However, Palace are keen to put an end to any speculation about his future and talks are ongoing between all parties as they enter the latter stages of the season.

Following Dougie Freedman’s surprise exit from Selhurst Park, the Eagles are determined to avoid further upheaval ahead of an important summer window.

As things stand, the manager’s contract is set to expire in 2026, but the Eagles are seeking to commit his long-term future to the club.

After a slow start to the season which saw Palace fail to win any of their first eight games, Palace are now among the form teams in the Premier League.

They are currently preparing to face Fulham in the FA Cup quarter-final with hopes of winning the club’s first major trophy since their formation in 1861.

Glasner is believed to be happy at the club, and will seek assurances that the club will do all they can to keep their best players and build on their recent success during contract talks.

Adam Wharton update emerges amid Man United and Man City race

Glasner’s aim to keep his best players at the club comes amid intense interest in the likes of Marc Guehi, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Adam Wharton.

Brown told Football Insider that Man City, Man United and Tottenham are all eyeing a deal for Wharton as a potential bidding war could take place this summer.

He explained that City would be the favourites for his signature given their financial muscle, but Palace have no intention of letting him go as things stand.

This comes as the Eagles are expected to demand a “huge” fee for his sale, as Football Insider revealed Palace do not plan to sell Wharton this summer.
