Charlotte Hornets revolutionize training with new Novant Health Performance Center

The Charlotte Hornets are teaming up with Novant Health once again, and this time, the partnership is taking a monumental step forward. With the announcement of the Novant Health Performance Center, set to open in 2026, the collaboration between the Hornets and the Winston-Salem-based healthcare provider promises to reshape the future of both the team and the city.

Construction for the 160,000-square-foot Novant Health Performance Center is already underway. The new facility, located right across from Spectrum Center, will feature two full-size basketball courts, cutting-edge medical and recovery spaces, and an expansive strength and conditioning area. "The Novant Health Performance Center will provide our players with the highest level of personalized training and healthcare," said Hornets Co-Chairman Rick Schnall. This facility is designed not just for performance but also for recovery and wellness, essential to keeping the players at the top of their game.

The Charlotte Hornets just announced that Novant Health is the official naming rights partner, and as such, the facility will be called the Novant Health Performance Center.

Novant Health's involvement goes beyond just basketball. The center will also house a public Novant Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine clinic, providing world-class care to Charlotte residents. Dr. Sid Fletcher, Senior Vice President of Novant Health's Charlotte region, emphasized the broader impact: "This new training center is another step toward collectively deepening our impact in our own backyard by helping people thrive." With a focus on health and wellness, this partnership is designed to elevate both athletes and the community at large.

The Hornets and Novant Health have a history that dates back to 2004 when the team was re-established as the Bobcats. Over the years, Novant has become the official healthcare provider, with naming rights to the Hornets' practice facility and the Novant Health Fieldhouse, home of the Greensboro Swarm. The new partnership further strengthens this relationship, showcasing their shared commitment to innovation, health, and community growth.

As the Novant Health Performance Center takes shape, it signals a new era of excellence for both the Charlotte Hornets and the city. Fans can look forward to a facility that not only supports the team's on-court ambitions but also serves as a hub for health and wellness in Charlotte. The countdown to 2026 has officially begun, and the Hornets' bright future is just around the corner.
