David Moyes will be looking to rebuild his Everton team in the summer transfer window and Carlos Alcaraz is set to be the first part of that.

The 22-year-old moved to Goodison Park on loan during the winter transfer window and has looked impressive in Moyes’ new and improved Everton side.

After making eight appearances in all competitions so far, Alcaraz is now set to make his move to Merseyside permanent after the conclusion of the campaign.

Alcaraz contract details emerge at Everton

Due to PSR restrictions, Everton were limited in their transfer business during the winter window, and that meant the signing of Alcaraz was temporary to comply with their restrictions.

The Argentine international joined from Flamengo, where he had gone since leaving Southampton, his only other experience of English football.

Alcaraz’s loan deal had a conditional option clause based on the number of appearances made during his time with the Blues.

According to journalist Germain Garcia Grova, via X (25 March), the clause has been automatically activated for Alcaraz to stick around permanently.

As a result, Everton are set to keep the 22-year-old, recruiting him on a deal worth just over £15million.

The midfielder will sign a four-year deal with Everton and be part of the side that Moyes takes to Bramley-Moore Dock to kick off a new era in the Toffees’ history.

Everton right to keep Alcaraz

As the Toffees prepare to move from Goodison Park, the new manager and new owners will be joined by Angus Kinnear to mark a step forward in Merseyside.

Although any business will have to remain measured, there will no doubt be several changes at Everton to give Moyes the opportunity to push up the table with his side next season.

The playmaker has an eye for goal, scoring in the win at Crystal Palace and also setting up Beto in the same game.

There is still plenty of work to do, but at such a young age, this makes Alcaraz an exciting signing that Moyes can shape and make a focal part of the side.

With Abdoulaye Doucoure set to exit Goodison, the Toffees will be looking for a replacement, and it would make perfect sense for that to be someone who is already settled at the club and knows his role.
