Yet spurs have apparently offered 50% more than Sunderland are asking and we want to pay 50% less. Sounds legit

How much would West Ham have to spend on Rigg?

It is believed that Sunderland’s asking price is around £20m but the Irons are said to be only willing to pay half that figure.

There is no doubt that Rigg is an outstanding young talent but, as some supporters have pointed out, head coach Graham Potter needs players who can come in and do a job straight away.

The midfield will be one of the main areas to reinforce this summer but there are other positions, including centre-back and striker, that require strengthening too. Important decisions will have to be made on the transfer budget and where resources should be devoted.

It is set to be a summer of change at the London Stadium

As well as new additions, there could be several high profile exits as Potter seeks to reshape his squad.

Evan Ferguson and Carlos Soler are unlikely to make their moves permanent while Emerson Palmieri, Danny Ings, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Guido Rodriguez and Nicolas Fullkrug could all be offloaded. It remains to be seen if some of the money raised from player sales will be spent on Rigg.
