Liverpool fans could be forgiven for wincing at the word “contract”.

The saga surrounding Trent Alexander-Arnold’s impending free transfer to Real Madrid has left supporters reeling this week.

Compounding the anxiety, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk remain locked in stalemates over extensions, with both icons entering the final months of their deals.

These uncertainties threaten to overshadow a historic Premier League title charge, casting a shadow over what should be a celebratory season.

While senior stars dominate headlines, the club has quietly secured the futures of several rising talents—a strategic move to safeguard their long-term vision.

Midfielder Kieran Morrison (18), dubbed “the next Steven Gerrard” by U18s staff, signed a new deal in January after scoring 12 goals this season.

Forward Kareem Ahmed, an 16-year-old Egyptian prodigy who netted on his U18s debut last year, extended terms alongside defenders Carter Pinnn and Luca Furnell-Gill, both tipped for first-team exposure in the near future.

Now Liverpool has confirmed that young left-back Clae Ewing has signed his first professional contract at the club, rewarding the versatile left-back for a standout campaign across multiple youth levels.

Ewing joined Liverpool’s academy at U12 level from hometown club Bury in 2019, overcoming the collapse of his boyhood team to thrive in the Reds’ system. Initially deployed as a left-back, the teenager has evolved into a dynamic, attack-minded defender capable of slotting into midfield.

He has been a U18s Regular this term having started 14 games at left-back while chipping in with 3 assists.
