The Gunners full-back featured in both matches for England over the international break.

Arsenal teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly has enjoyed an unforgettable week and a half with the England national team, making his senior Three Lions debut and scoring on his first ever appearance.

The 18-year-old started both matches against Albania and Latvia in World Cup Qualifying action with new England boss Thomas Tuchel clearly impressed with what he had seen from Lewis-Skelly so far in a breakthrough season at the Emirates Stadium.

The defender has made 29 appearances across all competitions under Mikel Arteta and has turned heads with performances well ahead of his age. Lewis-Skelly was dropped in the deep end for England but looked comfortable, netting the first goal in the 2-0 win over Albania.

Myles Lewis-Skelly shared ‘pride’ for England debut

Reflecting on the two matches for England, Lewis-Skelly posted a message of thanks on his Instagram. He said: “Thank you to everyone that has messaged me or my family. First senior England camp done! My first time playing at Wembley. Felt really proud to represent our country and scored in front of my grandma with my whole family there. I’ll never forget it. I feel really happy.

“Arriving at St George’s Park was on my vision board. I know it’s only the start but the dream and vision started a long time ago.

“Back to school and back to training this week with the same focus and energy. Thank you again. Especially to the team and England staff who helped me. Love Myles.”

Lewis-Skelly will now turn his focus to Premier League action with a London derby against Fulham looming large next week. There is then the small matter of a Champions League quarter final against Spanish titans Real Madrid.

Thomas Tuchel reflects on Lewis-Skelly performances

Praising the player for his impact on the England squad, Tuchel said: "He is such an open character.

"He was amazing in camp. Full of confidence, full of humour. You see everything on the pitch, off the pitch. He does it with a natural confidence. That's how he plays football. Full of courage and quality. He was decisive and opened this game for us.

"The second half, he played as an eight, we wanted to take more risks. The first half we played in a 4-1 and 4-1 up front. He played more conventional and scored more up-front. He played as a No 8 or 10. I think his best position is where he plays for Arsenal in the left double six, inverted role.

"If you see him in possession games in training, the quality of first touch, body movement, how he plays the passes is a very high understanding of the game. He's very versatile and can do a lot of things. We tried to play more conventional today because there are many players for different clubs."

In other news, this Arsenal star produced a ‘dominant’ performance for his national side this week to inspire a comeback.
