Chido Obi will hope he is in line for a big end to the season for Manchester United with national team aspirations surely on his mind this summer.
The season is now heading into its closing stages, with Manchester United having a maximum of 14 games left to play this season.
Of these 14, rising star Chido Obi will only be eligible for nine, considering he isn’t included in the Europa League squad list.
With this in mind, Obi will hope to take his chances and get his first senior goal before the season draws to a close, while he will likely play a part for the academy in the FA Youth Cup.
Obi is still very young in his career, only making four cameo appearances under Amorim, amounting to 78 minutes in total. However, in these brief appearances, Obi earned a call-up to the Denmark U21 side.
The 17-year-old has been impressive. With Obi wowing the Danish U21 head coach in training.

Steffen Hojer reviews Chido Obi’s performances for Denmark U21
Having spent a week with the U21s for the first time, Obi is likely being primed for a role in this summer’s U21 European Championships – which Denmark begins against Ukraine on June 12th.
Speaking on Tuesday, head coach Steffen Hojer has told Danish outlet Tipsbladet that he has been impressed by Obi.

“I think he will fit in well with the squad. We had talked about it a lot before because he is five years younger than some of the players we have. He is a very young man. He was there to learn, and we had him there to watch him.
“He made a good impression, and I was extremely happy to see how he came into the squad and how the boys welcomed him. He has had a really good trip and has shown himself well.”
Hojer then added that Obi has to put in the work at United and earn more playing time in order to take the next step.
“Now it’s home and work further at Manchester United and see if he can get a little more playing time there.”
Continuing, Hojer revealed he feels Obi needs just one chance to score.
“He comes in where there is a lot of pressure. What you hope with someone like him is that he gets that one chance because it is absolutely his core competency to be in the box and put the balls in the box. It didn’t come yesterday.
“But he came in and worked with the team in a difficult situation, so you couldn’t expect much else from him.”

Ruben Amorim must give Chido Obi his chances for Manchester United
Hojer has informed Obi what he needs to do in order to be back in the U21 side and get more minutes, and that is play for United, which is what Amorim is hopefully preparing to do over the next two months.
United face a tough run in, however, in the Premier League, the season is already finished with very little to play for, considering the Red Devils sit 13th in the league.
Obi was named 50th in the NXGN rankings, which he will want to improve on and with minutes, he will. With the Europa League the priority, United should hand Obi at least 30 minutes per game in the Premier League, this giving him the experience needed to evolve and hopefully play a bigger role next season.
Additionally, it will help him get a place in Hojer’s U21 squad this summer, which would be an excellent experience.
